ABOUT THE CHJ LARGE COUNTY INITIATIVE
In our Large County Initiative, the Center for Health and Justice at TASC partners with county leaders around the country as they work to leverage healthcare reform resources toward the development of less costly and more humane criminal justice systems. We provide technical assistance to partners who are looking to increase healthcare enrollment of current prisoners, inmates and detainees, establish linkages and “warm handoffs” between criminal justice and healthcare agencies, create ecosystems that catalyze growth in capacity of behavioral healthcare service providers, and utilize community-based behavioral health services as a means of criminal diversion and jail population reduction.
